From Public Service to Public Power
We have talented Georgia candidates ready to support public service campaigns. Currently, we're also training displaced federal workers and building winning campaign teams.
UFGW and dedicated public servants who refuse to be silenced are teaming up to elect more pro-science candidates and flip the GA State House.
Georgia has no shortage of talented candidates, but winning a public service campaign requires building strong teams. Too often, staffers are underpaid, undervalued, and undertrained, leaving even the best candidates at a disadvantage.
Trump’s assault on federal workers, especially at science-based agencies like the CDC, displaced thousands of skilled, mission-driven professionals. Instead of being silenced, they’re ready to fight back with their expertise in management, communications, research, and data.
Through From Public Service to Public Power, these displaced experts are completing specialized training in campaign strategy, fundraising, communications, and field organizing.
Once trained, they become members of the Public Power Corps — a statewide network ready to put integrity, skill, and service back to work where it’s needed most: on the front lines of Georgia’s elections.
Each member, known as a Power Partner, is deployed to strengthen Democratic campaigns, rebuild trust in government, and help reclaim our state from extremism.
This initiative is more than just training—it’s about building a long-term pipeline of campaign leaders who will power progressive victories for the next decade.
Last cycle, UFGW raised over $500,000 to directly support our Georgia state house candidates. This year, we’re aiming even higher with a goal to double that amount so we can pay competitive staff salaries and give our candidates the professional support they need to win.
